Kogin is a traditional form of Japanese embroidery where the design is stitched across the horizontal holes in evenweave fabric. Information about kogin, as well as a how-to guide and handy videos, can be found here https://www.japancrafts.co.uk/kogin.html
The design for this cushion is based on a traditional pattern called Kutsuwa, referring to a family crest (kamon) depicting a horse's bit. The kutsuwa kamon was used by samurai in battle. Kutsuwa Tsunagi means 'repeated kutsuwa' design.
This kit will give you hours of enjoyment to stitch, and can be made into a cushion (you will need a 40cm cushion pad), table centrepiece, or simply framed and displayed in your home. it is sure to be well admired for years to come!
