As ever, Festival of Quilts was the most manic, incredible, inspirational week on the Japan Crafts calendar. Setting up on my own was a doddle thanks to plenty of planning in advance, and by the end of Wednesday, the stand looked something like this.
By the end of the day we were utterly exhausted, having only sat down for about 5 minutes during the day and being constantly on the go. I don't think I've ever had to make so many kits in a day before!
A bite to eat with April (and a wonderful phone call with my daughter, who's in Austria and had been put on a drip with dehydration/heat exhaustion on Tuesday...), and it was back to my hotel, where I enjoyed this rather amazing view from the window before collapsing into bed.
On Friday, our friend Liz came to help, and on Saturday we had Susan and Glyn, who said they'd had a busier day than when they traded at the show, since EVERYBODY wanted to stop and talk to Susan when they walked round!
I'm afraid to say I didn't really see much of the show due to being so busy at the stand, but everyone seemed to be having a great time and the few quilts I did see were as magnificent as ever.
I'd like to say a massive 'thank you', especially to April for being such a great mate, top saleswoman and for reminding me of a 'certain song' at a critical moment! And thanks to all my lovely customers and friends, it's always the best part of every show to meet so many enthusiastic textile lovers, and to be able to help them find the perfect fabrics for their projects.
